Hawaii's esteemed kumu hula, composer, and music icon, Robert Cazimero, is set to grace the stage this Saturday at 7 pm, marking his 37th year of May Day concerts at Kahilu Theatre. With the exception of the pandemic year of 2020, Cazimero's May visits to Waimea have become a cherished tradition for the Kahilu community.

Robert Cazimero, a figure of reverence in the world of music, has a career that spans over four decades. He has enchanted audiences globally with his distinctive fusion of traditional Hawaiian music and modern melodies. As a cultural ambassador, he has dedicated his life to educating people about the rich history, traditions, and values of Hawai‘i.

Though an Oahu native, Robert frequently shares touching anecdotes about his grandfather and his ancestral roots in Kohala. Local halau hula dance to “Aloha E Kohala,” a beautiful tribute by Cazimero to his ancestral land. With his family roots in the area, Robert's performances often feature a special invitation to friends and relatives to join him on stage.
