Taiko Master Kenny Endo returns to Kahilu with his Contemporary Ensemble to celebrate 50 years of groundbreaking music and rhythm. A trailblazer in North America and Japan, Endo is renowned for blending traditional Japanese drumming with jazz, funk, and world music influences. This special Golden 2x25 Anniversary Tour showcases dynamic original compositions performed on taiko, flute, shamisen, koto, vibraphone, and ‘ukulele by a world-class ensemble of musicians from the U.S. and Japan.

A Living Treasure of Hawai‘i and the first non-national to receive a classical drumming stage name in Japan, Endo’s artistry has inspired generations. His performances are powerful, nuanced, and unforgettable—a sonic journey that honors tradition while forging new ground.
