Campers participate in daily electives of their choice, including puppetry, accents, songwriting, film making and much more.
At the end of the two weeks, campers perform a show for their ‘ohanas. All KPAW teachers are theater professionals from Hawai’i Island, assisted by local high school and college students pursuing a theater education.

Our programs also include master classes with Season artists, summer camps, and the Kahilu Performing Arts Workshop (KPAW), led by KPAC alumni. Scholarships are available to make these opportunities accessible to all.
Our partnerships with local schools enable us to bring the arts into the lives of students in a meaningful and engaging way. The Kahilu Arts (K-Arts) program has provided middle school students with the opportunity to shine both on and off the stage, while our ‘Ukulele and Slack Key Guitar Festival connects Hawaiian music legends with the next generation of artists. Our gallery exhibits also offer docent-led programs for a deeper understanding of the artwork on display.
Kahilu welcomes interns and volunteers of all ages and interests to participate in our year-round workforce development programs. By working alongside our dedicated team, participants gain valuable experience and contribute to the vibrant artistic community we strive to cultivate.
