Peter Durst has been a potter, ceramicist, and sculptor for almost 50 years and has exhibited his work nationally in galleries, art centers, museums, private collections and public spaces. After receiving a BA from Allegheny College and a JD from NYU School of Law, he became interested in pottery and discovered the Anderson Ranch in Snowmass. Colorado. After working there for 2 years, getting a ceramics education and developing his skills, he moved to Denver and opened his first studio. He has maintained Durst Studio, Gallery, and Sculpture Garden since 1990. He has been a long-time visitor to the Big Island of Hawaii and since 2010, a part time resident, where he maintains a studio in Napoopoo and teaches ceramics at Donkey Mill Art Center in Holualoa.
