Get ready for a night of sharp observations, unforgettable stories, and big laughs as Rex Navarrete and Ron Josol take the Kahilu stage.

Two internationally touring comedians with decades of experience between them, Navarrete and Josol bring distinct perspectives shaped by Filipino heritage, multicultural life, family, travel, and the shared absurdities of everyday experience.

Rex Navarrete has been a pioneering voice in Filipino American comedy for more than three decades.

Emerging from San Francisco’s legendary stand-up scene in the 1990s, Navarrete has performed alongside comedians including Robin Williams, George Lopez, Russell Peters, and Ali Wong while bringing his distinctive brand of “Pinoy” humor to audiences throughout the United States, Asia, Europe, Australia, and Canada, as well as members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

His acclaimed concert film Badass Madapaka was filmed before a sold-out crowd at Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theatre, and his television appearances include Lopez Tonight, Live at Gotham, MyxTV, and MTV Philippines. Long before “going viral” became part of the cultural vocabulary, Navarrete reached audiences around the world with the 2001 animated short “Maritess vs. The Superfriends.” In 2025, he was inducted into the Aliw Awards Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to the performing arts in the Philippines.

Ron Josol brings a fresh, hilarious perspective to everyday life through the lens of his Filipino heritage and multicultural experiences.

One of Canada’s most celebrated comedians, Josol has spent more than 25 years entertaining audiences around the world with sharp observational humor, quick wit, and engaging storytelling.

A winner of the Just for Laughs Ontario competition, Josol has returned to the prestigious Just for Laughs Festival multiple times and has appeared on Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, Gotham Comedy Live, Comics Unleashed, Dry Bar Comedy, Last Call with Carson Daly, and at comedy festivals throughout North America, Asia, the Caribbean, and beyond.

Together at Kahilu, Rex Navarrete and Ron Josol bring two singular comedic voices to one stage for an evening celebrating culture, connection, and the universal joy of a great laugh.
