Kahilu.TV Premiere!

“ʻUala” is the latest installment in Kahilu.TV's original docuseries, Nā Pua Pasifika, celebrating the traditional canoe plants that have sustained Pacific Island communities for generations.

This episode features Kehaulani Marshall of Ulu Mau Puanui. Together, her and Uncle Ricky show us how easy it is to plant, harvest and cook with sweet potato while demonstrating several dishes that you can prepare at home using only a handful of ingredients.

Following the premiere screening, join the filmmakers and cultural practitioners for a special talkback and enjoy a tasting featuring foods inspired by the film.

About Nā Pua Pasifika

Nā Pua Pasifika focuses on sustainability in Hawai’i Nei. Each segment spotlights one of five main food crops used throughout the Pacific Islands that can be key building blocks of food security for the state: ‘Ulu (breadfruit), Kalo (taro), Uhi (true yam), Kapioka (tapioca), and ‘Uala (sweet potato).
